Saturday 26th November 2016

Kent and England opener Tammy Beaumont has signed to play in the Women's Big Bash League in Australia next month.

Beaumont joins her county captain Charlotte Edwards at Adelaide Strikers in the women’s competition which starts on Saturday 10 December.

The Kent Cricket Academy graduate has had a fine year: winning the domestic double with Kent, the Walter Lawrence Trophy Women’s Award as well as helping England to reach the World Cup.

The 25-year-old Dover-born batsman said: “I’m very excited to be joining the Strikers and can’t wait to join up with the squad next week.

“I'm especially looking forward to meeting the squad and playing with Charlotte Edwards again, as well as Sophie Devine, Megan Schutt, Sarah Coyte and the others for the first time.

“Having visited Adelaide before I'm excited to get back to the city, especially for our games at the Adelaide Oval.”

The only way to secure your seat is with a Kent Cricket Membership or Six Pack Package– available at Early Bird prices until 31 December 2016.

Match tickets will go on sale in January 2017
