The ECB today announced that Kent off-spinner James Tredwell has been awarded an England increment contract for 2013-14.

Tredwell qualifies for the award by virtue of playing three ODIs and a T20 against Australia and three ODIs and three T20s against West Indies during the current contract period.

Non-contracted players can earn an England increment contract via a points system. Five points are awarded for a Test appearance and two for a T20 or ODI appearance, with an increment contract being awarded automatically once the player reaches 20 points during the 12-month contract period.

Commenting on the news, Jamie Clifford, Chief Executive Officer said "Everybody involved with the Club will I'm sure join me in congratulating James on this well deserved England increment contract. We now wish him well for a successful ICC World T20 campaign and look forward to see him back at Kent for the start of the season."
