Update: New Dover Road Park & Ride parking charges

The Club can confirm to Members and supporters that constructive discussions have been held with representatives of Canterbury City Council regarding the recent increase in New Dover Road Park & Ride fees from £4 to £8 per car.

The new fees were set to apply for all evening events at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

However, with Government restrictions still in place, and The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence operating at a reduced capacity due to COVID-19 safety protocols, the Council has agreed that the charge of £4 per car will continue to apply for all cricket matches for the remainder of the 2021 season.

Kent Cricket CEO, Simon Storey, said:: “Whilst the Club recognises the financial challenges faced by Canterbury City Council, we are pleased that they have been able to review the plans in light of concerns raised by the Club.

“We will continue to work with Council officers and the Safety Advisory Group to ensure that, despite on-going lockdown restrictions, the safe Return of Crowds can progress and our Members and supporters can still be provided with a range of parking options.”
