Varsity Cricket cancelled/postponed following heavy rain

Kent County Cricket Club today confirmed that Friday’s Varsity Cricket event at the St Lawrence Ground has been cancelled/postponed.

Heavy rain on Wednesday night resulted in a build-up of water on the wicket area and the outfield has also become saturated.

The Club’s first priority must be preparation for next week’s LV= County Championship match at the St Lawrence Ground and therefore a decision was made earlier this morning to cancel/postpone the event.

It is hoped that the event will be held at a later date and this will be confirmed in due course. The Club, along with the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University would like to thank event sponsors Nando’s, Oranjeboom and UPP (University Partnership Programme) for their generous support of the event.
