Vitality Blast Squad Update: 14/07/21

The Club can confirm that Zak Crawley will be available for Kent Spitfires’ two remaining Vitality Blast group matches against Middlesex and Sussex Sharks this week, following his recent stint with England’s Men’s ODI team.

Crawley will follow all appropriate protocols as he returns to the Spitfires after becoming the 21st Kent Men’s star to play ODI cricket for England. Crawley scored 37 in yesterday’s ODI win against Pakistan at Edgbaston, having already scored his maiden ODI half century on debut in the first match of the series.

Sam Billings, who featured in the first England ODI squad, will not be available for Kent’s remaining Vitality Blast group matches. He has been ruled out as he follows ECB Return to Play COVID-19 protocols, after testing positive for COVID-19.

Kent’s Director of Cricket, Paul Downton, said: “Following the isolation of our Vitality Blast squad, the return of Zak is a welcome boost to all involved.

“Whilst we have already qualified for the quarter finals, we are looking forward to the final two Vitality Blast group matches as we aim to secure a home tie.”
