Player Biography
Charlie, a swing bowler, signed on for the 2014 season after impressing for Kent’s second XI last summer.
The former Somerset youngster attended Millfield School, along with his new county team-mates Daniel Bell-Drummond and Calum Haggett. He clinched a contract after a string of fine performances for Kent’s second string – which culminated in him taking 4-46 against Middlesex at Radlett.
Charlie has spent the last two winters honing his skills, playing grade cricket in Sydney, and he extended his contract in September 2014.
Hartley took 20 wickets in 11 matches in four seasons at the club with a best return of 4/80 against the West Indies in August, taking six wickets in the match.
The seamer earned man-of-the-match with 2/23 against Gloucestershire in a One-Day Cup group game in 2016 and later in the competition, took two wickets in the quarter-final defeat to Yorkshire.
