Rabada takes seven wickets in West Indies tri-series

Kagiso Rabada took three wickets for South Africa as they bowed out of the ODI tri-series with defeat against the West Indies.

The 21-year-old paceman struck twice in his second over with 91mph deliveries: opener Johnson Charles edged to second slipback of a length before removing Marlon Samuels’ off stump with a inswinging yorker first ball.

In his next over, he unleashed a 93mph yorker to demolish Dinesh Ramdin’s middle stump to reduce the West Indies to 21-4 before West Indies recovered in the middle overs.

Dwayne Bravo (102) added 156 for the fifth wicket with Kieron Pollard (62) before Jason Holder (40) and Carlos Brathwaite (33) added 54 for the seventh wicket as they posted 285.

Rabada took seven wickets in five completed matches and is expected to fly in next week ahead of a potential debut against Sussex Sharks in the NatWest T20 Blast on Thursday (30 June).
