Kent Women start season at Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire

Kent Women begin the defence of the double with two away matches in the Midlands this weekend.

New coach Lydia Greenway has named a 14-strong squad to play Warwickshire on Sunday and Nottinghamshire on Bank Holiday Monday (May 1 and 2, 11am start).

Centrally contracted England players Tammy Beaumont, Tash Farrant and Laura Marsh are unavailable after a training camp in Dubai but there’s an opportunity for the next generation to stake a claim.

Izzy Cloke will be hoping to impress after selection in the England Academy squad and will be joined by Megan Belt, Phoebe Franklin and Chelsey Rowson who have been selected for regional development squads.

There could be up to three teenage debutants this weekend: batsman Annabelle Richards and bowlers Jodie Hobson and Chelsey Rowson could make their senior bow.

Warwickshire will be without England players Jenny Gunn and Amy Jones on Sunday but Notts will be at full strength with no players away on international duty.

Kent squad: Alice Davidson-Richards (captain), Grace Gibbs (vice-captain), Lottie Bryan, Phoebe Franklin, Molly Davis, Emily Thompson (wk), Lauren Griffiths (wk), Izzy Cloke, Megan Belt, Jenni Jackson, Rocky Beeson, Chelsey Rowson, Annabelle Richards, Jodie Hobson.
