Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League 2017, week 2

Three sides are locked on 18 points at the top of the Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket Premier League after the second round of matches.

Sandwich Town continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 76-run win at Lordswood.

Former Kent bowler Amjad Khan was the pick of the Lordswood attack with 3/48 in ten overs after he elected to field first.

Eight bowlers were used as Lordswood conceded 265 for eight before Sandwich Town’s overseas Grant Stewart grabbed 4/43 and Kent Cricket Academy scholar Jan Gray picked up 1/33 in ten overs.

Zak Crawley and Adam Rouse were both dismissed as Sevenoaks Vine lost by seven wickets at Tunbridge Wells.

Vine were invited to bat first and were dismissed for 124 in 31.5 overs.

Tunbridge Wells reached the victory target in 28.4 overs and Crawley took 1/8 in 10 balls with Alex Williams hitting an unbeaten half-century.

Adam Ball took 2/47 for Tenterden as they lost to Adam Riley’s unbeaten Bexley by 12 runs.

The off-spinner took a wicket as he continued his comeback from injury.

Academy scholar Oliver Robinson took two catches as Beckenham lost to Blackheath by 62 runs at Rectory Field.

Newcomers Holmesdale lost by five wickets to unbeaten defending champions Hartley Country Club.
