Stewart: It’s a team effort

Grant Stewart says the six wins to date on the FGS Plant Tour have been a collective effort with a variety of players contributing with bat and ball.
The fast bowling all-rounder, who turned 24 this week, top-scored with 44 and has taken seven wickets in four matches including a three-wicket haul in this one-day debut against Guyana.

Kent’s new number nine said: “I think it shows how well we have come together as a group to see different people stepping up with both bat and ball each game when it has been required, rather than relying on the same one or two players to perform.
“Our fielding has also been a massive asset to us during this tour and I think it was another major factor in getting us over the line yesterday.”
Although his bowling has impressed in his career to date, he was happy to show he can contribute runs with the bat, sharing a 87-run stand with Calum Haggett in Friday’s win against the USA.
Stewart said: “It was quite a different innings for me. My natural game is probably to be a bit more aggressive than what I played yesterday.
“Although the situation of the game and the conditions required Haggs and I to knock it around and leave us a few wickets in hand to have a bit more of a crack for the last 5 overs.”
