The 27-year-old Dover-born batsman follows former Kent skipper Charlotte Edwards and fellow Kent Cricket Academy graduates Lydia Greenway and Laura Marsh in playing 50 matches for the national team.

In searing temperatures in Nagpur, England posted 201-9 with Warwickshire wicketkeeper Amy Jones top-scoring with 94 after the tourists won the toss on a slow pitch.

Wisden cover star Anya Shrubsole (2/37) was the only bowler to take wickets as the hosts won with 4.4 overs to spare.

England’s next series will be the Royal London One-Day Internationals against South Africa with the final match at The Spitfire Ground on Friday 15 June.
