Tredwell smashes it for the Spitfires!
Monday 20th June 2011
James Tredwell was the Spitfires’ top scorer in their thrilling Friends Life t20 match on Saturday night, and he really smashed it! Tredwell (34 not out), hit a six which smashed through the hoarding at the edge of the floodlit St Lawrence Ground.
The University of Kent hoarding has been left with a hole, appropriately right through the word Kent. Supporters nearby recounted this as one of the highlights of a tense match which saw Kent Spitfires' third consecutive Friends Life t20 win.
One supporter commented, "It was amazing, the ball smashed straight through the hoarding above us and we all gasped. It was awesome, and summed up the Spitfires tonight. This was my first t20 match and I loved it. I knew we could win it!"
