Kent League Round-up

Former Bangladesh captain Mohammed Ashraful was in fine form for Blackheath in their seven wicket victory over Canterbury in the Premier Division match at Polo Farm. The home side could only reach 172 for 7 from their 50 overs with Kent Academy scholar Isaacs Dilkes scoring 40. Ashraful took 3 for 31 and was then 55 not out as Blackheath won the game in 41.5 overs reaching 175 for 3.

There was a thrilling finish in the match between Bickley Park and Sevenoaks Vine, the visitors, who included Kent wicketkeeper Adam Rouse in their side winning by four runs. The Vine scored 152 for 9 but Bickley Park were bowled out for 148 despite 29 from former Kent player Warren Lee.

Bexley moved to the top of the table with a comprehensive win over bottom club HSBC Kent who were bowled out for 110, Alex Smith taking 3 for 10 for the visitors and Adam Riley 2 for 10. Bexley knocked the runs off in 23.4 overs reaching 114 for 2.

Sandwich,  190 for 7 from their 50 overs, were comfortable winners  by 84 runs, over Lordswood who were bowled out for 106, Kent second team player Jan Gray taking 3 for 26.

In Division One, two former Kent players and Pakistan internationals Amjad Khan and Yasir Arafat helped Bromley to a six wicket win over local rivals Bromley Common. Arafat scored 61 in his sides winning score of 190 for 4 after the home side had been dismissed for 187. Khan and Arafat took two wickets apiece.
