Lots to win on Ladies’ Day at Canterbury Cricket Week

‘Get on your glad rags ladies, and prepare to win some top quality prizes!’ That’s the message from Kent County Cricket Club as they release details of their ‘Fashion on the Outfield’ competition for Canterbury Cricket Week.

The 160th Festival will once again include the highly anticipated Ladies’ Day, on the second day of the Championship fixture against Surrey, Thursday 11th August. The usually hat competition is this year being replaced with the ‘Fashion on the Outfield’ competition as CEO Jamie Clifford explains; “The Club look forward to seeing more stunning hats, but this year judging will be centred on the entire outfit.The Fashion on the Outfield Competition, with the support of some of the leading Kent Businesses offering some great prizes, should be extra special.”

Leading Canterbury High Street retailer, Fenwick are providing first prize for Fashion on the Outfield; a £500 personal shopping experience in their fashion, accessories and cosmetics departments.Fenwick’s Advertising and Marketing Manager, Julie Prior along with Buyer, Catherine Gaskin will be lending their expertise as judges for the competition, joining Kent Cricket President John Shepherd’s wife, Sue.

Second prize is a stylish two night break in Edinburgh, including flights and bed and breakfast accommodationat the Apex Waterloo Place Hotel, courtesy of Manston, Kent’s International Airport, and Flybe.

Local Jeweller, and official supplier to Kent Cricket, Fitzgerald Jewellers, will supply a £250 voucherfor the lucky third prize winner. The winner will be able to view the new line of Kent Cricket jewellery, select an item from their range of Pandora jewellery or have a piece of bespoke jewellery produced for them by the manufacturing jewellers at Fitzgerald’s.

“We are hopeful that ladies of Kent, and Kentish ladies, will embrace Fashion on the Outfield and will dress up in all their grandeur. They will get to enjoy a day at the world’s most historic cricket week and have the opportunity to win some great prizes,” noted Clifford.

Entries for the competition will be taken on the day, although you can also pre-register by phoning the Club, calling 01227 456 886, with the judging due to take place during the afternoon tea break on the outfield.

Ground entry is free for those aged 16 and under for both matches during Canterbury Cricket Week; the Kent v Surrey, County Championship match on Wednesday 10th – Saturday 13th August, andthe Kent Spitfires v The Netherlands, one day match on Sunday 14th August.
