Kent League Round-Up

Kent batsman Alex Blake scored 43 for Beckenham as they consolidated their position at the top of the Premier Division, with a four wicket victory over Tunbridge Wells.

Beckenham scored 171 for 6 from their 50 overs. The visitors were bowled out for 166 in 48 overs, Alex Williams scoring 68 and Kent Second X1 all-rounder Will MacVicar taking an impressive 4 for 18.

Former Kent spinner Adam Riley scored 62 and Matthew Stiddard 50 as second placed Bexley beat bottom club HSBC by 47 runs. The home side scored 213 for 7, Richard Golbourne taking 4 for 41.

HSBC were all out for 166 in 42.3 overs, Matthew Abbott 51, Dave Crawley 3 for 28, Jason Benn 3 for 31, Adam Riley 2 for 31.

The relegation battle between Blackheath and Canterbury saw the teams swap places with the visitors dropping into the bottom two after a six wicket defeat.

Canterbury were bowled out for 116 in 41 overs losing their last three wickets for one run. Kent Academy scholar Joe Gordon scored 35 and Tanweer Sikandar took 4 for 16. Former Bangladesh test star Mohammad Ashraful was 36 not out as Blackheath won in 27.2 overs ending on 117 for 4.

Kent players Freddie Klaassen, and Jordan Cox were instrumental in Sandwich beating Lordswood away by 50 runs. Cox scored 51 and Alex Smith 56 as the visitors reached 204 for 9. They then bowled the home side out for 154, Klaassen 3 for 34 and Kent Second XI spinner Jan Gray 3 for 40.

Bickley Park were five wicket winners over Sevenoaks Vine reaching their winning target of 182 for 5, Daniel Magin 50 not out in reply to the home sides 181 for 8, Rayit Singh 3 for 36. Kent wicket keeper Adam Rouse was out for nine.

Beckenham have 213 points and Bexley 198 at the top whilst at the bottom HSBC are marooned on 78, Canterbury 120 and Blackheath 132.
