Kia Super League Round-Up

Kent and England batter Fran Wilson was a part of the Western Storm side that won the Kia Super League in its final edition over the weekend.

The right-hander scored 18 runs in the final, against the Southern Vipers, at The 1st Central County Ground in Hove.

She was dismissed by Kent T20 captain Tash Farrant, who went on to finish with figures of 2/19.

Farrant was alongside Kent club captain Tammy Beaumont, who scored 33 from 28 balls before falling to England teammate Anya Shrubsole.

In the same match, Fran Wilson ran out Maia Bouchier without the Vipers batter facing a ball.

Earlier in the day, Wilson’s Western Storm watched on to see who they would face in the final as the Loughborough Lightning and Southern Vipers clashed in an ‘eliminator’.

Kent’s Beaumont and Farrant were both involved in that fixture too, Beaumont dismissing Joanne Gardner without scoring via a run out before scoring 24 with the bat as the Vipers won by five wickets.

The Western Storm’s six wicket win in the final brings an end to the Kia Super League before the launch of the Women’s Hundred next year.

Fran Wilson finished as the tournament’s sixth highest run scorer, amassing 298 runs in ten innings at an average of 49.66. Tammy Beaumont scored 239 runs in 11 innings at 23.90.

Tash Farrant finished as the tournament’s third-highest wicket taker, with 14 at an average of 15.92. Kent’s Alice Davidson-Richards and Laura Marsh both took ten wickets in the tournament, both averaging under 23.00.

There’s less than one month to go until the biggest night of the year – the Spitfire Kent Cricket Awards!
