Kent Cricket CEO, Simon Storey, said: “The recent wet weather – with further rain forecast over the weekend – means that the risks of using the grass playing fields for parking are too high.

“We are fortunate to have Canterbury City Council’s Park and Ride Service located a five-minute bus ride away from The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.

“It has been an invaluable part of our COVID-19 Return of Crowds plan on match days, with more buses being added by Park and Ride to manage the demand created by our Members and supporters on match-days.”

“We appreciate that parking is an important part of the match-day experience and we will be review the condition of the playing field next Tuesday, before our match against Surrey on Friday, and Members and supporters will be informed of any outcome.”
