Kent aiming high with their two summer concerts

Wednesday 20th May 2009

TICKETS are continuing to sell well for Kent County Cricket Club“s two major summer concerts. The Sugababes and James Morrison are the confirmed artists for the 26 and 27 of June respectively. As things stand, tickets to see James Morrison are proving the most popular with the glamorous Sugababes a close second in the popularity stakes.

Kent“s Director of Operations, Jon Fordham, is pleased with the ticket sales so far: ‘Things are progressing nicely. We are told that our ticket sales to date for James Morrison are above the national sales average for his UK concerts, whilst those for Sugababes are spot on as to where they were expected to be with just over five weeks to go.

‘At Kent County Cricket Club, we are always striving to be well above average in everything we do and during the next five weeks our efforts will be concentrated on ensuring the audiences for both concerts exceed everyone“s expectations“, said Fordham. ‘We will heighten the awareness of these events to bring them to the forefront of people“s minds. Members, and supporters of Kent cricket, can play their part by telling friends and family. It is very easy to think that everyone knows about the concerts when in fact that is not always the case.“

With tickets prices for shows at most of the London venues continuing to increase, the Club made a conscious decision to keep prices competitive, at £26.50 per show.

As Mr Fordham explains: ‘The key for us was to keep the prices as low as possible. A lot goes in to putting on major concerts like the two we are running and the costs are not insignificant. However, in these difficult times you have to be totally realistic with regard to pricing. Hopefully the good folk of Kent will appreciate this and turn out in significant numbers on both nights.“
