Adam Ball blasts century for Claremont

Adam Ball has started his spell in South Africa in style with 46 and an unbeaten century in his first two matches for Claremont.

He also shone with the ball on Saturday, taking 3/37 in 15 overs with a brisk spell of left-arm bowling.

The 22-year-old all-rounder is spending the winter in Cape Town at the former club of ex-Kent and England captain Mike Denness.

During the winter, Ball will be working with coaches at the nearby Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy.

Claremont captain Matt Elsworth said: "We have set up that he trains with the Gary Kirsten Cricket Academy high performance squad when he is not training for the club.

"I believe this is the best coaching he could receive in the region and they are excited to work with him. This avenue also exposes Adam to train with the batting consultants for the Cobras franchise and hopefully get him some net time with the local professionals."

Meanwhile, Sean Dickson managed a solitary single before being run out as his Pretoria High School Old Boys side won by a wicket against Police CC at Hofmeyer Park.
