Laura Marsh helps NSW Breakers to top with Tasmania win

Kent all-rounder Laura Marsh impressed with bat and ball as New South Wales Breakers defeated Tasmanian Roar in the Women’s National Cricket League match at Hobart.

The 28-year-old from Pembury hit 22 not out off 19 balls to push the Breakers to 273 for five after Roar won the toss and fielded first.

Roar started slowly and Marsh took the key wicket of England vice-captain Heather Knight for 48 in the 25th over, leaving Tasmania on 94 for three.

Despite middle-order resistance, Tasmania fell 33 runs short of the target and were dismissed for 240 with Marsh taking a catch to help wrap up the win which put the Breakers top of the NWCL table.
