Kent Cricket delivers coaching sessions at first African-Caribbean Festival

In a first-of-its-kind event on Sunday 13 August, the African-Caribbean Cricket festival at The County Ground, Northampton brought people across the community and country together in celebration and culture with the support of the ECB.

A day of cultural music, food, and the appearances of cricket legends such as Joel Garner, took place at the home of Northamptonshire County Cricket Club.

In addition, free coaching for juniors was delivered by Asher Roberts, Kent Cricket’s London Development Officer. The success of the festival, with its message of positivity for African-Caribbean youth in cricket, has inspired counties to show support for other cultures within cricket and should be celebrated.

Kent Cricket will be showing continued support of the African-Caribbean culture by supporting the Caribbean Cup finals at Catford & Cyphers CC on Sunday 3 September. The match starts at 12:00, with a live stream available and free entry for all those that want to see an exhilarating match between a London-combined XI and the ACE Programme.

Gates will open at 11:00, with free entry & limited on-site parking available.

Cyphers bar will be open from 14:00 and food will be available from 19:00.
