Alex Blake awarded county cap

Kent batsman Alex Blake was awarded county cap 214 during day one of the West Indies tour match at the 166th Canterbury Cricket Week.

The 28-year-old is a graduate of the prolific Kent Cricket Academy and made his senior debut at the end of the 2007 season.

A regular winner of Fielder of the Year and One-Day Player of the Year in 2015, the Beckenham batsman scored his maiden one-day century against Somerset at Taunton in May, off just 46 balls.

Blake also reached three figures at Headingley against Yorkshire in 2010 when he hit 105 not out.

He has hit 19 half-centuries in all formats: six in first class matches, eight in one-day cricket and five in T20s.

The left-hander was presented his cap from Kent President and former all-rounder Charles Rowe during the tea interval on day one of the West Indies tour match.
