Bell-Drummond hits unbeaten 50 in Lions win

Kent opener Daniel Bell-Drummond scored 61 not out in a century stand to guide England Lions to a nine-wicket win against South Africa A at Trent Bridge.

The 23-year-old hit four fours on the way to his 16th one-day 50 and the third time he’s passed 50 in four List A innings for the Lions.

He rotated the strike as Middlesex opener Dawid Malan carried his bat at the other end with 125* in a 135-run stand as they chased 269 to win the first of three 50-over matches.

The Lions attack dismissed the tourists for 268 in 49 overs before chasing the target with 57 balls remaining.

Next up, the series concludes with matches in Northampton on Saturday and Monday (June 3 and 5).

England Lions play South Africa A in a four-day fixture starting on Wednesday 21 June
