Kent captain Charlotte Edwards hit 39 not out for Perth Scorchers to seal a nine-wicket win over Sydney Sixers in the Women's Big Bash League.

The Sixers, including county colleagues Laura Marsh and Kara Sutherland, were dismissed for 81.

Marsh scored six and Sutherland did not face a ball as Sixers slid to 35-8 before a 46-run ninth-wicket stand, more than doubled the total.

Edwards hit five boundaries with Marsh dismissing opener Elyse Villani before Nicole Bolton joined the Kent skipper to reach the victory target with 40 balls to spare.

After Friday's narrow two-run win, the Scorchers kept their 100 per cent record going to the delight of the England opener, who was named player of the match.

Edwards said: “We bowled and fielded well, we took our chances and we stuck to our plans.

“I think actually the wicket suited the medium pace type bowler instead of the slightly faster bowler so perhaps Katherine (Brunt) missing out wasn’t such a bad thing.

"It’s great to see Emma Biss come in, obviously Suzie has been outstanding and to knock the runs off against a good Sixers team, we’re pretty happy with that.

"Now we’ve got to recover from that and a big game tomorrow. It was a much better performance than yesterday. Our post-match team talk yesterday was one as though we had lost the game.

"It’s important after you win a close one that you actually really identify areas that you’ve not performed well in, and we didn’t bat well enough.

"We need players to take responsibility and I was pretty determined today to see the girls home and pleased to have contributed to a good win today.”

The Sixers made it three defeats in three games with a 35-run loss to Brisbane Heat later on Saturday.

Heat's Grace Harris scored 103 as Brisbane amassed 190 and Laura Marsh took all three wickets for Perth, finishing with 3-17 in three overs.

The Kent all-rounder opened the reply, scoring 19 as they scored 155-7 in reply.

The Scorchers and the Sixers followed up the clash with defeats to Brisbane Heat on Sunday.
