County Girl’s Team Building Trips

Wednesday 19th May 2021

The Kent Under 11 and Under 13 Girl’s Age Group Squads have recently undertaken pre-season team building trips, for some fun before the season and to strengthen the team bond.

Our Under 11 Girls visited Grosvenor Hall in Ashford for the fifth year, for their annual team building trip. In an intensive, action-packed day, the team braved the high ropes, attacked the assault course, built and raced buggies, climbed walls and stacked crates mid air, plus lots of other problem-solving tasks. The girls were encouraged to throw themselves into the day and take turns to demonstrate leadership and communication skills, important for the cricket season ahead. Our Under 13 Girls undertook something a little different, travelling to Betteshanger Park to partipate in MY/PT’s all-weather, army-style outdoor fitness. The day for the girls was based on tried and tested military training techniques, with motivation provided by Her Majesty’s Armed Forces trained instructors.

The instructors were very impressed with the girls agility and endurance; these fitness attributes are also very important for the girls as they progress through the cricket pathway. They concluded the day with a game of archery tag to satisfy the team’s competitive sporting nature and returned home exhausted!

With the competitive cricket season soon to start for the teams against neighbouring counties, this sort of experience will be invaluable to both squads.
