Girlguiding Kent counties partnership news

Kent Cricket’s partnership with Girlguiding Kent counties took one step further with the release of the Girlguiding Activity Challenge Pack and two Guide Unit Leader CPD days.

The ‘Howzat’ badge activity pack contains various cricket-related tasks ranging from arts and crafts to learning the umpire signals that girls can complete to earn their cricket badge. Any interested Girlguiding units can contact their local county commissioner for more details.

The CPD evenings took place at both The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in Canterbury and the County Ground, Beckenham in London with over 30 units from around the County attending. These events covered the basics of batting, bowling and fielding with some fun games played at the end. There was plenty of very positive feedback at the end of the sessions with participants saying they were achey but enjoyed it. These sessions will allow the leaders to go back to their units and deliver fun and engaging cricket sessions for the girls.

In addition, interested units can get in touch to be linked up with a local girls’ cricket club to experience a more formal experience.

If you belong to a club or are a Girlguiding unit that wishes to get involved in this offer, please contact Christian Rice, SE London Manager for Kent Cricket.
