Girls’ Indoor Eights School’s Competition to Launch

Wednesday 17th November 2021

Kent Cricket are excited to announce the return of their girls’ secondary school indoor cricket competition under a new name for 2022 – ‘Indoor Eights’.

Previously named ‘The Lady Taverners’, this newly branded competition offers 8-a-side incrediball indoor cricket to secondary school girls at the under 13 and under 15 age groups (years 7-10).

Over 1,800 teams take part in this competition on average nationally. In Kent for 2022, there will be a choice of four regional events at two age groups, in Thanet, Ashford, Sevenoaks and Dartford. The winner of each event will then be invited to the Kent Finals and the subsequent champions will have the chance to compete regionally and if successful, compete in the ECB National Finals.

Kent schools have seen success in this competition before, with Kent College taking the title in 2018. It is always well supported in the county, with on average of 30 state and independent secondary schools entering a team into the county rounds.
