Join Kent 60+ & 70+ Charity Walk for Prostate Cancer UK & The Bob Willis Fund

Monday 25th March 2024

Kent Seniors are taking part in a charity walk from the The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Friday 5 April with the joint objective of raising Prostate Cancer awareness amongst men and funds for Prostate Cancer UK and the Bob Willis Fund.

The walk will be a maximum of 5 miles, starting and finishing at The Spitfire Ground and taking in tourist attractions around the City of Canterbury. Participants are asked to meet at 10.00am, with the walk starting at 10.30am.

All the Kent 50,60 & 70+ Cricket fraternity, family & friends are welcome to join the walk. Kent Seniors are hoping for as big a turn out as possible and ask for your support.

It is anticipated that Rob Key & David Willis will join the walk and Sky Sports TV are planning to make a short film of the walk plus a couple of interviews that will be shown on Bob Willis “blue day” at the first England test (Edgbaston).

Ron & Pat Hedley (the driving force) out of Buckinghamshire 60/70+ cricket will also join the walk. Ron’s ambition is to achieve a walk in each of the counties playing 60/70+ cricket.

Pre-registered walkers are to be presented with a Bob Willis Fund Cap, Bob Willis badge, booklet on Prostate cancer & a Ron’s March ‘T’ shirt. In return each walker is asked to be sponsored or personally donate a minimum of £25 to the cause.

1 in 8 men are affected by Prostate Cancer and several of our members will attest to early diagnosis making a huge difference to outcome.

Gordon Watts is co-ordinating the walk on the behalf of Kent Seniors. Please contact him via the button below if you would like to take part or have any questions.
