Women’s and Girls’ Group Continues to Grow

The Kent Women’s and Girls’ Group recorded fantastic attendance at their 2023 post-season meeting.

Held virtually, to minimise travel and demands on volunteer time, the independently constituted group are a voice for recreational women’s and girls’ cricket throughout Kent.

The 2023 season saw a number of changes to the competitions available, as well as a swell in the number of clubs entering teams. This was reflected in the call with over 40 attendees, including representatives from 27 different clubs, all of which are listed below.

Following the successful launch of the Kent Women’s Premier League (KWPL), the number of competitions that the group co-ordinate grew to 6 for 2023. This included three age group girls’ competitions, the Kent Women’s Development League (KWDL) and the highly popular Kent Women’s Softball Cricket League (KWSCL).

With the variety of cricket now available, the group provides a valuable and supportive forum for clubs who are at different stages in their journey.
