With Cricket4London’s mission to continue to bring available cricket opportunities in the Southeast region we teamed up with Millwall Community Trust over the October half-term for a holiday camp to encourage more children in Southeast London to be more active using the power of football and cricket.
With both organisations aiming to achieve the same goal of providing opportunities within the Deptford area we have decided to work together to bring the best working environments for our young adults to learn and grow within both sports. To understand the role of a mentor, teacher, coach and provide the best playing opportunities for our young children to take part in activities.
Millwall Community Trust aims to help inspire young and old people to achieve their potential and improve their wellbeing; working together to build stronger, safer and a more inclusive community.
Kent cricket and Cricket 4 London want to inspire and encourage young people to take part and provided the best opportunity to play, learn and grow in cricket to access the benefits within the sport.
Coach Ash delivered cricket activities that those who attended the C4L Deptford hub would have found not too dissimilar. Both football and cricket activities were delivered during the half term camp and received positive feedback.
“I didn’t know anything about cricket until after this camp. Now I want to take part in your hub”.
“Thank you so much for coming and teaching us cricket”.
“That was so fun”.
