Cowdrey takes four wickets for Western Suburbs in Australia

Fabian Cowdrey took four wickets and struck 40 for Western Suburbs.

The left-arm spinner took 4-24 in a fine 16-over spell which included six maidens before a brisk 48-ball innings which featured four fours and a six.

Elsewhere in New South Wales, Mitch Claydon and Matt Hunn took a wicket apiece for Newcastle City in their defeat to Cardiff-Boolaroo.

Skipper Sam Northeast signed off his spell at Sunshine Coast by scoring 37 as the Scorchers scored 290 for seven.

The 26-year-old Kent Cricket Academy graduate signed off with a 96-minute knock which included four boundaries.
