DBD and Stevens in North v South contention
Kent Spitfires opener Daniel Bell-Drummond sits in third place in the MVP South Group standings with the top four earning a trip to the UAE to defend the North v South title in 2018.
The 22-year-old was a member of the South squad and scored an unbeaten 92 as the South swept the North in the three-match series.
Hampshire captain James Vince and Essex opener Alastair Cook lead the rankings with Bell-Drummond level on points with Gloucestershire seamer Chris Liddle.
Spitfires all-rounder Darren Stevens and Ravi Bopara of Essex closed in on a top-four place at the weekend, meaning there is all to play for in the last round of matches in the South Group on Wednesday – when their counties face each other at the Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence.
