England Lions and England Under 19s to play at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence

Kent Cricket are delighted to host England Lions and England Under 19s fixtures at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence next summer.

England’s A side will take on Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A in back-to-back 50-over matches on Sunday and Monday July 24-25 before England Under 19s play Sri Lanka U19 in a 50-over one-day international on Tuesday 16 August.

Kent opener Daniel Bell-Drummond, ‘keeper Sam Billings and spinner Adam Riley have played recently for England Lions with 11 current Kent players having played for England Under 19s.

Bell-Drummond, 22, hit a century against Australia this summer and earned a call-up with county colleague Sam Billings for the Lions squad for a T20 series in Dubai.

The Lewisham-born batsman said: "It's great to see international cricket coming to Canterbury. We welcomed both Australia men and women in 2015 and it's nice for our supporters to have a glimpse of the next generation of England players at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence and hopefully a few Kent lads will be involved."
