Ferley stars with the ball as Kent seconds triumph

Thursday 3rd September 2009

Spinner Rob Ferley (pictured) took 6-65 as Kent recorded a 56-run victory in their Second Eleven Championship match against MCC Universities at the Mote.

Wicketkeeper Paul Dixey (96 not out) and Charlie Hemphrey (54 not out) put Kent into a strong position as they declared their second innings on 233-3.

The spinners then got to work with the ball – and in some style. Left-armer Ferley was the pick, with six wickets, while emerging off-spinner Maurice Holmes weighed in with 3-106 to lead Kent through to an exciting victory.
