John Clark: 1947 – 2022

Tuesday 11th October 2022

The Club is very sad to learn of the death of former General Committee member, John Clark, after a long illness.

John was well-known and much respected by many Members and supporters. As well as being an active member of the Kent Cricket Supporters’ Club and the Lord’s Taverners, John served on the General Committee for 16 years. He stepped down on the introduction of the new Board earlier this year.

Kent Cricket Chair, Simon Philip said: ”John will go down as one of the Club’s most devoted supporters in our long history, having been a Member for 55 years. Following his retirement from the Metropolitan Police in 1996, he attended every day of play at over 250 consecutive County Championship matches – home and away.

“His friendship, wise counsel and gentle humour was highly valued by all at the Club.

“Our thoughts are with John’s family and friends at this time.”
