Kent contingent selected for South East Stars EPP

A number of talented young Kent Women players have been selected in the Emerging Player Programme (EPP) for the regional side covering both Kent & Surrey, the South East Stars.

The South East Stars now sit atop of the Kent Women Talent Pathway framework, providing a direct route for Kent’s Women’s & Girls’ players to become professional cricketers & then potentially represent their country.

Included in the latest South East Stars EPP cohort is Alice Grant, who was crowned Kent Women’s Emerging Player of the Year at the 2022 Spitfire Kent Cricket Awards earlier this month. She is joined by five players that made their Kent Women debuts this year, directly coming from Kent Cricket’s female Talent Pathway, including Anna & Emily Roche – the third set of twins to play for Kent Women.

Former Kent Women all-rounder & South East Stars Regional Talent Manager, Jenni Jackson, said: “It’s an incredibly exciting time for women’s cricket in this country and part of that is the introduction of a new branch of a regional structure.

“The new Emerging Player Programme offers the highest potential County Age Group players the opportunity to develop their skill with input from high level coaches.

“I’m excited to get started with a very talented squad of players who I’m sure will take the opportunity with both hands.”
