Kent Cricket goes cashless at Canterbury & Beckenham

Kent Cricket is pleased to announce that all future matchday payments at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence and The County Ground, Beckenham will be cashless.

The Kent Cricket Shop, Membership and Ticket sales, sales of Scorecards and food and beverage payments at all outlets will now be conducted without cash.

Spectators will simply use their usual bank debit or credit card for payment.

The move to cashless transactions is all part of the Club’s work to safely allow as many Members and Season Ticket holders as possible to watch live cricket this season, and comes as the Club prepares to reopen the gates of The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence to 950 Members and Season Ticket holders for the match against Glamorgan on Thursday 20 May.

Removing cash from the payment process reduces the risk of virus transmission through contact, as well as speeding up queues which is potential area of risk.

Chief Executive, Simon Storey said: “Coupled with the Club’s new Membership & Ticket system that enables Members and Season Ticket holders to print tickets at home or download tickets to a smart device, the move to a cashless experience in-ground is an important part of the Club’s plan to progressively increase ground capacity as safely as possible, and in-line with Government guidelines.

“We hope that Members and Season Ticket holders will see the benefits of faster payments and reduced queuing times, and ultimately feel re-assured that the Club is doing everything possible to protect them.

“The introduction of electronic points of sale (EPOS) across Club-owned stadia has been made possible through the Club’s partnership with Kappture, a leading provider of EPOS and mobile payment software solutions.

“We are grateful for their support with the installation and testing that means we can be ready for the return of spectators.”

Members are reminded that to access the ground this season, they will need their Membership card, Match Day tickets and a form of identification. With the introduction of cashless payments, they should also carry their bank card.
