Kent Cricket to host one day Sri Lanka warm-up match in 2014

Kent County Cricket Club have confirmed that they will host a one day fixture against Sri Lanka in May 2014, following the ECB’s announcement of the full itinerary for Sri Lanka’s tour of England next summer.

Ahead of next season’s One-Day series and NatWest T20 International, Kent and Essex will both host floodlit one-day matches against the tourists, with Sussex also due to host a T20 warm-up game.

Sri Lanka’s final tour match will be a four-day game against Northamptonshire in preparation for the two-match Investec Test series against England which will take place in June.

Kent Cricket’s CEO, Jamie Clifford commented on the news; “We very much look forward to welcoming Sri Lanka to The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence in May 2014 for this 50 over floodlit fixture. The allocation of this match to our 2014 schedule is extremely welcome and I am sure it will be well supported.”
