Kent record best-ever T20 Blast ticket sales

Spitfires supporters turned out in force as Kent achieved the highest NatWest T20 Blast ticket sales in the history of the club.

Almost 34,000 spectators attended the seven home group games with six held at The Spitfire Ground due to the competition’s new condensed format with mainly floodlit fixtures.

Attendances in the group stage rose by 19 per cent year-on-year, an increase of almost 60 per cent from crowds in 2014, largely thanks to campaigns using our targeted e-mail database, increased social media presence and digital ads.

To encourage the next generation, more than 70 memberships were given to children taking part in All Stars Cricket sessions and hundreds of free tickets were donated to young cricketers at local clubs.

With overall ticket sales for the tournament up 10 per cent, the new format helped coaches and players to focus on T20 skills.

Kent Cricket CEO Jamie Clifford said: “It was great to see so many new faces at our T20 matches this year.

“We’re obviously disappointed not to reach the knockout stages but I’d like to thank our members and supporters for their backing in such a busy schedule.

“Online sales were our highest ever with more people booking online to save time and money at the gate.

“We hope to improve on and off the pitch every year and will look at all the feedback in our plans for 2018.”

Recent innovations include a new-look website, big screen, a new female mascot, refurbished club shop in the Cowdrey Stand and reusable Green Goblets to cut plastic waste.
