Kent Women 2024 schedule revealed

Kent Women will begin their 2024 campaign on Sunday 21 April, with four titles up for grabs this Summer for the Horses.

Megan Belt’s side’s opening match against Middlesex Women is part of an ECB Women’s County 50-Over tournament, a new addition for this season. Kent will also contest the ECB’s County T20 regional tournament, the Women’s London Championship 50-over competition, and the ever-popular Battle of the Bridge T20 Showcase, this year taking place across the Dartford Crossing at The Cloud County Ground, Chelmsford.

Stand-out fixtures include a Women’s London Championship match with Surrey at The County Ground, Beckenham on Saturday 11 May, and a T20 double-header held at the Nevill Ground, Tunbridge Wells, with matches against Buckinghamshire & Middlesex, on Sunday 28 July.

Entry to all Kent Women matches is FREE to all Kent Members & ticket bundle holders, or £5 at the gate. Kent Women fixtures will not take off a day’s play from the Six Pack ticket bundle.

Kent’s Women’s and Girls’ Pathway Manager, Dave Smith, said: “We have a packed Women’s fixture list this year with ECB T20 and 50 over competitions, plus the London Championship.

“The Battle of the Bridge heads to Chelmsford for a game under lights in August, and we’re also excited to play matches at Beckenham, Polo Farm and the Nevill this season. The squad are all excited to get going and show what they can do. It would be great to see some Kent fans come along and support the Women throughout the season.”

News of Kent Women’s Summer schedule for this year comes after five female cricketers to have come through the Kent Talent Pathway were retained by their respective franchises in The Hundred. On this, Smith said: “Seeing a huge number of players who have come through the Pathway, or played women’s cricket for Kent, be retained by their Hundred franchises is inspiring for girls growing up dreaming of playing professional cricket.

“From everyone at Kent Cricket we wish them the best for their regional season and Hundred campaign, and we hope to see them in a Kent shirt in the not too distant future.”

An unmissable evening of cricket is coming to Canterbury in the Summer of 2024, and tickets are now on sale to see England’s heroes take on the White Ferns of New Zealand in Canterbury, just an hour’s journey from the capital.

It is only the second time that Canterbury has hosted a Women’s International T20 match in its long history, and will be another boost for the continued growth of women’s cricket in Kent.
