LV=CC update: At lunch, Kent require 41 more runs to beat Yorkshire

Wednesday 15th September 2010

At lunch, on the final day, Kent“s cricketers require another 41 runs to beat Yorkshire at Headingley. After dismissing the home side for just 130 in their second innings, Kent were set a victory target of 90 to finish their LV= County Championship season on a winning note.

Despite losing openers Joe Denly and Sam Northeast early in the run chase, skipper Rob Key (pictured) and Martin van Jaarsveld steadied the ship with an unbeaten 43 run partnership as Kent reached lunch 49 for two.

Sadly, with Hampshire struggling in their game against Warwickshire at the Rose Bowl, it looks likely that Kent will still go down – even if they do win in Leeds.
