Match Report: Kent Second XI vs. Warwickshire Second XI
Kent’s talented young batter, Tawanda Muyeye, scored an excellent first innings century for the Second Eleven, in their championship match against Warwickshire Second team, at Tonbridge School, but finished up on the losing side, as the visitors gained a comprehensive 151 run victory in three days.

Muyeye scored 125 with 22 boundaries and two sixes in the teams 353, replying to Warwickshire’s 378.
Alex Blake scored 57, and the visitors’ captain, Jacob Bethall took a highly impressive 7 for 108.
In the Warwickshire first innings, Ethan Brookes had scored a century, 137 with 18 fours and a six. Rob Yates 63 and George Maddy 51. Jas Singh 3 for 63.
Building on their lead of 25, the visitors scored 304 in their second innings, Brookes again leading the way with 81,and David Scott scored 71. Kent Seconds wicket-keeper, Ben Aldred, who plays for club side Bexley, took six catches in the match behind the stumps.
Set 330 to win Kent Seconds slumped to 178 all out, Bethall taking 4 for 60, to give him match figures of 11 for 168. The only resistance came from Kent’s two experienced batters, Alex Blake, with 61 and Darren Stevens 48.

Kent Second XI have double header T20 friendly matches against the Reliance Cricket Club, at the County Ground, Beckenham, on Friday, July 15, the first match starting at 11:30.
Their next Championship match starts on Monday, July 18, away to Surrey Second XI, at the LSE Ground, New Malden.
