Men’s Second XI 2022 fixtures announced

Kent’s Men’s Second XI will begin the 2022 season with a trip to Sussex on the opening day of the Second Eleven Championship, Monday 11 April.
Whilst some venues are still to be confirmed, as things stand, all Kent Second XI home matches will be Free Entry for all to attend, and spaces do not need to be reserved.

This season, the Second XI Championship will be in three regional groups, with Kent drawn in the South Group alongside Essex, Hampshire, Middlesex, Surrey & Sussex’s Second XIs.
This year’s competition rules state that there must be five matches played against other regional opposition, as well as a minimum of three matches against opposition in other groups – Kent Second XI will play Northamptonshire Second XI at Polo Farm in Canterbury from Monday 18 April, Warwickshire Second XI at a Kentish venue to be confirmed from Monday 11 July and Gloucestershire Second XI at Polo Farm from Monday 12 September.
As well as the Second XI four-day competition, Kent will also compete in the 2022 Second XI T20 tournament, with matches against fellow southern sides across the month of May – many scheduled days of T20 cricket have the capacity to be double headers.
Kent are again in the South Group alongside rivals mirroring the make-up of the Second XI Championship, with the group winner and best second-placed team from the three regions earning a place at Second XI T20 Finals Day on Thursday 9 June.
The County Ground, Beckenham is scheduled to host at least eight days of free-to-enter Kent Second XI cricket this season, as well as two further friendlies.
Essex Second XI will face Kent Second XI at Beckenham in a 50-over friendly match on the eve of the Royal London Cup on Monday 25 July, and Kent Second XI will also face internationally recognised opposition, Associate nation Jersey, in T20 friendlies across Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June.
As things stand, all Kent Second XI home matches will be Free Entry for all to attend, and spaces do not need to be reserved.
