Rail delays this Sunday – leave early

Thursday 24th September 2009

Members and supporters coming to Sunday“s final game of the season, against Northants Steelbacks in the NatWest Pro40, should leave in plenty of time if coming by rail. Passengers across east Kent face long delays and disruption as work begins to upgrade Faversham railway station across the weekend.

Buses will replace trains on Sunday between Sittingbourne and Selling, Sittingbourne and Whitstable and Sittingbourne and Dover Priory.

On the plus side, there are plenty of reasons to come along to the game. The club is giving the opportunity to see the LV County Championship Division Two trophy this Sunday. The trophy will be on display for all to see.

The famous Ashes urn will also be here, so you can follow Andrew Strauss and get up-close-and-personal with the little piece of history that England and Australia have been fighting for since 1882.

In addition, the Kent women will be on show with the LV County Championship trophy that they won and the Kent U17“s with parade the league and cup trophies that they achieved during a successful season for Kent cricket.
There is a special incentive for junior members. The first 200 through the turnstiles will receive a free annual as a thank you for your continued support.

The Kent Spitfires can still finish second in the table with a win over Northants Steelbacks. The action begins at 12.45 and tickets are still available. You can book yours by calling 01227 456886 or online at www.kentccc.com.
