Record crowd for Binny’s Fireworks Night

More than 6,500 people enjoyed Binny's Fireworks Night at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Saturday, the biggest attendance in the event's history.

KMFM presenter Laura Nevitt hosted an evening of music including live performances from Spitfire Sweethearts, Kevin Iverson and Old Town Souls before a 20-minute display lit up the city's skies.

Donations at the New Dover Road park-and-ride raised more than £750 for Kent charity Pilgrims Hospices, enough to fund 37 hours of specialist nursing care and family support for patients.

Kent Cricket would like to thank Binny Amin and the staff at Binny's Canterbury and Blean Londis for their ongoing support, media partners KMFM and Kentish Gazette as well as Canterbury City Council and Stagecoach East Kent for providing a free park-and-ride service.
