Samurai to continue as Kent kit supplier

Kent Cricket have extended their partnership with Samurai Sportswear as the club's official kit supplier.

Since joining forces in 2009, Samurai Sportswear has produced popular and innovative custom designs using the latest performance fabric technology.

Kent’s 2015-16 NatWest T20 Blast shirt achieved record sales thanks to the sublimated Spitfire designs, in honour of the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

As part of the partnership, the Kent Cricket Shop at The Spitfire Ground will be relaunched in time for the 2017 season, stocking the latest Samurai Sportswear range.

Mike Atkin, Head of UK Sales at Samurai Sportswear said: “We are delighted to maintain our strong partnership with Kent County Cricket Club. They are an ambitious club with a great history and we look forward to helping the Club achieve its ambitions.

“We will continue to deliver our premium match and replica kit and training wear to the Kent players, coaches, staff and supporters. We look forward to continually exceeding their expectations throughout our partnership.”

Kent Cricket retail manager Barrie Dyer said: “We received several offers from suppliers which shows the growing reputation of the club but Samurai was the outstanding choice.”

“They appreciate the traditions of the club but keep up with the latest designs. The players, staff and supporters need clothing that is durable and comfortable for the challenges of a cricket season and I’m sure everyone will be proud to wear the new range.”

Kent captain Sam Northeast and coach Matt Walker visited the Samurai Sportswear HQ to review garment styles and fabric choices for Kent’s 2017 kit.
