Glamorgan Dragons: 95-3, 14.4 overs

Opener Joe Denly led from the front as the Kent Spitfires beat Glamorgan Dragons by 14 runs under the Duckworth-Lewis method, at the Swalec Stadium in Cardiff.

Batting first, Denly scored three fours and a six in his sprightly knock of 30 while the in-form Darren Stevens contributed 28 as Kent posted a challenging total of 158-9 from their 20 overs. Spin bowler Dean Cosker was the pick of the home attack with figures of 2-28 while Shaun Tait, the Adelaide Express, took 2-28.

Glamorgan’s response was built largely around Australian opener Mark Cosgrove. The stocky batter hit 54 from 44 balls but with his dismissal came the rain and the Welsh county found themselves behind the D/L requirement on 95-3 as Kent registered a 14-run victory under the Cardiff lights.

The Spitfires are back in action on Sunday when they play their final Friends Provident t20 group match of the season against the Somerset Sabres at Taunton.
