Wicketkeeper Adam Rouse has joined Kent on a trial basis as cover for Sam Billings.

The 22-year-old Zimbabwean-born cricketer has played for Hampshire and Gloucestershire, where he played last year.

Rouse represented England Under 19s seven times and will provide cover while Ryan Davies is himself on England Under 19 duty in Australia.

Head coach Jimmy Adams said: “Adam is a talented young wicketkeeper and he has been training with us in pre-season.
“He will provide some cover for Sam Billings over the next few weeks with Ryan Davies in Australia with the England Under 19s.
“It’s a good opportunity for him to train with the lads and we have a few Second XI fixtures for him to get some game time.”
