Men’s First Team

Tour Match

Kent Cricket is taking the opportunity to give their brigade of young and new players the opportunity to compete against world class opposition in Friday’s 50 over match with Sri Lanka. The squad will include seven players not involved with the recent LV= County Championship match in Derbyshire, including the return of England limited over specialist and former captain James Tredwell. ‘We are keen to give the young players exposure against world class opposition,’ stated Head Coach, Jimmy Adams. ‘It is also important for us to view the potential limited overs match options we have going forward.

The side will be captained by opening batsman Sam Northeast and includes Daniel Bell-Drummond, Ben Harmison, Sam Billings and Adam Ball from recent matches. As well as Tredwell, Kent regulars Alex Blake, Fabian Cowdrey and Robbie Joseph are included. Given the opportunity in the county colours are David Griffiths and Charlie Hartley as well as new, likely 12th Man, Imran Qayyum, who was recently awarded a development contract.

The match begins 2pm Friday, 16 May, at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence Canterbury.
