Kent v Surrey (Thu, 11am)

Kent entertain Surrey in a two-day friendly at The Spitfire Ground, St Lawrence on Thursday (5 April) with the start of the Specsavers County Championship little more than a week away.

Joe Denly will lead the side with new signings Heino Kuhn and Harry Podmore set to play against our oldest rivals.

Opener Daniel Bell-Drummond returns to the squad after the North-South series and MCC Champion County match in Barbados.

Overseas signing Matt Henry is scheduled to arrive from New Zealand next week ahead of next Friday’s season opener at home against Gloucestershire (11am).

Mitch Claydon (hand), Grant Stewart (hamstring) and James Tredwell (foot) are sidelined.

Players from both squads can play in either or both days with a maximum of 11 in the field.

Entry to both matchdays against Surrey is free of charge with parking available at the ground.

The Kent Cricket Shop in the Colin Cowdrey Stand will be open and the Lime Tree Cafe will be serving refreshments, snacks and sandwiches but the other bars at the ground will be closed.
